Most of
us held some false belief about the human body as kids, like that
babies come from storks or that you can't get pregnant unless you're
married.
But, as it turns out, many of us also retain some pretty crazy theories well into adulthood.
But, as it turns out, many of us also retain some pretty crazy theories well into adulthood.
A recent Reddit thread
asked people who didn't take sex ed to reveal what they had to learn
the hard way, often at an embarrassingly advanced age. It's easy to
forget as adults that a lot of this knowledge really doesn't come to us
naturally. Even if you did take sex ed, you may still relate to some of these responses, since schools often teach us strikingly little. Here are a few of the funniest (and most frightening) ones:
"A
boy did this motion at me in English class: He made a V with his
fingers and stuck his tongue in the middle. I thought it was just some
goofy gesture, and I went about my day doing it towards everyone." —Kativan88
"I thought I had AIDS right after learning about it because I had kissed a girl." —Blu45
"I
grew up in South Korea, and during kindergarten, they showed us a short
animated video of how babies are made. It was just about sperm and egg,
no penis or vagina, so until I found porn, I thought babies were made
when lovers kiss." —tw547
"Blow
jobs don't require actual blowing. As a matter of fact, one of the
quickest ways to get a guy to never, ever speak to you again is to grab
his dck and blow on it like you're inflating a Walmart-brand air mattress." —ColonialChicken*
"Never
knew you had to stick it in. Always thought you just rubbed the parts
together like spreading peanut butter onto some bread. Boy oh boy was I
wrong." —CrazedMaze"I didn't know about the in-out part until I found video porn. I thought you just put it in and left it there." —ch0keArtistYeah, and this is pretty much why we need better sex ed. Source: GlamourSmitten
