Manchester United chiefs are hopeful that they can lure Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Old Trafford ahead of Arsenal, reports say. The Paris Saint-Germain star is thought to favour a move to Arsenal if his time in the French capital comes to an end.
But the Swedish international could be persuaded to reject Arsenal in
favour of United if Jose Mourinho is appointed as manager, according to The Sun. Mourinho believes he can land the enigmatic Swede, who he coached at Inter Milan, due to their mutual respect of one another.
Louis van Gaal is expected to be sacked as United boss by the end of
the season, assuming they don’t qualify for the Champions League, and
Mourinho is hotly tipped to replace him.
Should that happen, United could move into pole position to land Ibra.
