🙌Miracle as woman survives for nearly a month lost in the woods

An Alabama woman missing for nearly a month was found safe after surviving in the woods on berries and mushrooms, she said.

Lisa Theris, 25, was reunited with family members after being spotted on the side of a road in Bullock County.

"I've been doing this now going on 15 years and I've never seen anything like it," Sheriff's Sgt. Chad Faulkner told WTVY. "Her will to live is incredible. I hate to classify it as a miracle but it's a miracle."

Authorities say Theris lost 50 pounds as she struggled to find food and water. After being lost for so long, she happened along Highway 82 on Saturday.

It is believed that she was with two men who broke into a hunting camp in the middle of July, and Manley Davis and Randall Oswald were later charged in the burglary. Authorities say Theris did not want to be involved in the alleged theft, and fled.

"She’s not familiar with this area and apparently on the night she ran, she went into the woods at night and got lost. I just thank God that she’s alive," Sheriff Raymond Rodgers told WSFA.

Theris, from the town of Louisville, told authorities she survived by eating berries and mushrooms, and by drinking water out of a brook.

"We are lucky that she is alive, she is so strong and has made it through so much," Lisa's sister Elizabeth told WSFA. "She is severely weakened, she is in pain, she is emaciated. There is not an inch of her that has not been affected."
"She has some complications and has a lot of healing to get through but she is standing strong and full of jokes as ever," her brother Will told the station.
