😢 Police arrest two for allegedly killing Chinese engineer
The two raided the Sakumono home of the Chinese man and killed him before making away with some of his valuables.
The suspects, Ekow Korsah, a 23-year-old foreman of the company, and Michael Mensah, 22, a labourer, reportedly killed Ren Guang Fa, 50, an engineer and managing director of the company at his home in Accra on April 13.
Guang, a Chinese, was found dead in the bathroom of his rented self-contained apartment at Sakumono.
Police say one of the suspects, Korsah, was arrested based on a tip-off.
He is said to have initially denied knowledge of the incident, but subsequently broke down and confessed to crime, mentioning Mensah as his accomplice.
A search conducted at his home in Lashibi led to the retrieval of a phone which belonged to the deceased.
Police say Mensah, who was arrested at Teshie in Accra, also admitted to committing the offence and corroborated the circumstances under which the offence was committed.
He later led the police to his hometown in the Central Region where a laptop belonging to the deceased was also retrieved.
The suspects have been charged with murder.
