Argentine forward Carlos Tevez has whisked his wife off on a luxury holiday in Cancun Mexico after becoming the world’s highest paid player.

Tevez who has toured Europe, playing for Manchester United and City before returning to his boyhood club, Boca Juniors, is now set to earn  £615,000 a week at Shaghai Shenhua under former Sunderland boss Gus Poyet.
