University lecturers have been busted after having s*x with female students to award them better grades.
Some lecturers at the University of Zululand in northern KZN, South
Africa, have been alleged to have engaged in s*x with female students.
However, according to Daily Sun SA, the lecturers and students
implicated in the recent allegations at the university will face serious
consequences should they be found guilty.
This comes after the university announced that an internal investigation to collect facts was underway.
Daily Sun SA reports that the news came to light last week when
sources at the university alleged that a number of students were
receiving better points from their lecturers in exchange for a poke.
Asked how the allegations came to light, university spokeswoman
Gcina Nhleko said she could not reveal details as the matter was still
under scrutiny.
“Necessary action will be taken against those implicated after concrete evidence has been found,” she said.
SRC president Wandile Mathebula told Daily Sun they wanted the
matter thoroughly investigated and those implicated to be suspended
immediately.
He said the SRC would hold a meeting with university management to talk about the matter.
“If the suspected students have any form of intimate relationships with the lecturers involved, it better end there.
“We cannot allow individuals to bring our university into
disrepute. We are going to make sure that they get the punishment they
deserve,” Mathebula said.
