The man identified as one Adamu Asaph, has been arraigned in court. Asaph was arraigned before an Abuja Grade One Area Court sitting in
Karmo for allegedly stealing two packs of condom valued at N3,000.
Accoding to Daily Trust, the prosecutor, A. Z. Dalhatu, said the
condoms were property of Society for Public Health which were kept in
the company’s custody.
Asaph was arraigned on a one count charge of theft by servant contrary to Section 289 of Penal Code.
The accused person, Asaph, denied the charges.
The presiding judge, Sadiq Abubakar, released the accused on bail in
the sum of N5,000 and a surety that resides within the court’s
jurisdiction.
The case was adjourned to September 5.
Similarly, the same court has sentenced one Abdullahi Ayodele to two
months imprisonment for attempting to vandalise a transformer at Utako,
Abuja.
The convict, of no address, was sentenced under sections 343 and 95 of the penal code.
The prosecutor, A.Z. Dalhatu, told the court that the accused was
caught with two spanners trying to remove armoured cables attached to
the transformer at IBM Haruna Street, Utako, on Saturday.
He said during police investigation at Utako Police Division, the convict confessed to the crime.
When the charges were read to him, the accused pleaded guilty and was
sentenced by the presiding judge, Sadiq Abubakar, to two months
imprisonment with an option of N5,000 fine.
