A heartbroken groom woke up the morning after his wedding to find his
bride had passed away beside him. Krzysztof Michalowski had married
tragic Mariola Orzechowska just hours before the discovery on Saturday
morning.
Although the cause of death has not yet been established it is known
Mariola suffered epilepsy and it is believed she may have had a fit in
her sleep. She was found in bed by her husband at the home they shared
in Catterick, North Yorkshire, after he had gone to feed their baby
thinking his wife was sleeping in.
Police were informed but a spokeswoman said there were no suspicious circumstances. Kris’s close friend Michael Jonas said:
“It should have been one of the happiest days of Mariola’s life. At
their wedding reception it was clear for all to see that Kris and
Mariola were very much in love. They had two beautiful children – both
under four years of age – and they had plans, a future together and
everything to live for but no-one could have seen the tragedy ahead.
“After the celebrations were over, Mariola went to bed and fell
asleep and never woke up again. She might have dreamt of her wonderful
wedding day spent with her husband, children, family and friends, or the
happiness they’d shared together. But the brutal reality is that she
lived only one day and one night as his wife. The family are devastated
and heartbroken. We all know how cruel life can be, but surely this is
one of the cruelest twists of fate.”
