Girls and their Drama (Part 1) by Olusanya Rebecca

Who is new here? Let's introduce ourselves ooo.  Am sure we have new members amongst us, Bimpe the hostel prefect announced. Two girls who have been chatting all along suddenly noticed the absolute silence in their vicinity and quickly mentioned their names,  the first one who is dark and tall looked at her sister who looked just like her and said,  I am taiwo and she is Kenny,  we are the only daughters of Chief....,  the other girl joined her, James and they burst into laughing.

Seeing that not even a single person found that funny,  they stopped laughing.  Bimpe who had been looking at them with disgust,  hissed and continued,  I guess they are the only new members...,  she hadn't finished her sentence when a very beautiful,  light skinned,  chubby short girl,  whose physic looks just like the daughter of a notable person entered. Before bimpe could continue,  the girl spoke,  sorry,  please excuse me,  the hostel mistress asked me to join the girls in the meeting,  could this be the...,  taiwo cuts in,  can't you see or are you blind?  Do you see any guy here?  Kenny her twin sister added.

Don't mind them it's here,  a girl who was just entering and her appearance portrayed that of an old student said not looking back. Thanks, the light skinned girl said.  I wasn't helping,  I just hate when people act nasty,  she said waving her hand. Bimpe who was already losing her  patience said to the girl at the entrance,  are you going to keep standing there and not introduce yourself? Am sorry,  pardon my manners, my name is Rebecca, Kenny cuts in before she could even finish,  who is your father?  Because you look like one of my daddy's friend's wife, she looks at her twin, taiwo you remember aunt Mabel,  Bimpe cuts in before taiwo could answer,  well I don't need her last name,  she points at thebec girl,  you.. Radika or whatever you call yourself ,  Rebecca ma,  she corrected, bimpe answered waving that off,  whatever sit down. Well this meeting is really for the new members,  you girls should make sure you clean your room everyday,  (she cuts to look at the wall clock behind her) (she continues ) girls, it's time for dinner,  I give you five minutes to go grab your plates and cutleries and move to the dining hall. 

(the girls move out in twos and threes) (taiwo to Kenny) do you remember that fine guy cousin Vivian told us about?  Yes..,  (Kenny replies) (taiwo whispering to her sister) I heard he is the senior prefect boy,  I really can't wait to see him. Kenny who is now facing her sister replied,  me too. (they left for their room) in the room they found Rebecca.  Kenny to Rebecca,  Becky girl so this is your room? Without waiting for a reply she continues,  it's good sha,  I hope you can gist well,  because my sister and I are known every where we go as the gossip girls,  she chuckles looking at her sister who gave her a warning look.  Just joking though,  she continues.  Taiwo who was getting uneasy at that moment said to her twin, can't you see that she is not even answering you...lets go before we get punished,  it's too early for that ooo.  They both left the room. 

 Few minutes after they left Rebecca gave a sigh of relief, thank God she said as she brought out her fork.  They didn't even ask me what I was looking for.  (to herself) I better be careful with them,  they talk to much for my liking. She steps out of the room and walks towards the dining hall,  then from behind she heard noise,  of which it sounded like two people quarreling.  She looked back and saw that the reading room door was opened,  she moved close to shut the door,  then she realized that the noise was coming from there,  just as she was about to leave,  a dark , tall, guy came out of the reading room hitting her,  without looking up,  am sorry she said quickly before she could think of anything else,  I wanted to close the door she continued, it's okay,  am sorry too, were the shocking words that came out from the guy.  Am Nifemi, he said stretching forth his hand to her, my name is Rebecca she said and looking up to shake him,  she was surprised at what he looked like,  tall dark and very handsome .  The look on her face showed that she was moved by his look,  just before she could say anything,  a voice was heard inside,  Femi!! Wait now,  I said am sorry, Femi!!.  She was surprised at who she saw,  senior Bimpe she said when the girl came out with tears in her eyes. Feeling stupid at the same time angry,  she shouted,  who are you and what are you doing here,  facing Nifemi ,  she said but I said am sorry,  do you have to do this,  just as she was about to say something else she noticed that Rebecca was still holding hands with Nifemi,  Rebecca quickly took her hands and before she could apologize,  Bimpe gave her a slap,  hissed and walked out. Rebecca running after her was saying,  am sorry senior,  I totally forgot I was still shaking him,  am sorry.  Bimpe stopped and gave her a deadly look,  hey girl,  watch your back,  no one tries that and gets away with it, now get away before I slap you again.
