A pregnant woman is fighting for her life in hospital after being stabbed multiple times in the middle of a busy town centre in broad daylight. See NTI story NTISTAB. Passers-by flagged down a police car in Trinity Hill, Sutton Coldfield, West Mids., after witnessing the brutal stabbing at around 3.15 yesterday (Fri). The 40-year-old mum-to-be was found lying in a pool of blood in the street and was flown to hopsital by air ambulance where her condition is described as critical. A 41-year-old man, who is known to the victim, was arrested at the scene nearby after two brave members of the public intervened. The Good Samaritans - both men - suffered minor hand injuries while trying to detain the man and were treated by paramedics. A large section of the area surrounding the busy town centre remained cordoned off yesterday evening (Fri) as officers swept it for clues.

Now suspect Babur Karamat Raja, who has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, attempted child destruction, assault and possession of a knife in a public place, has been pictured for the first time with the alleged victim.
Over the weekend, the family of Ms Queiroz thanked those who intervened in the attack.
‘We’d all like to express our heartfelt thanks to everybody who helped her on Friday afternoon,’ they said.
‘Your fearlessness and selfless actions saved both their lives and we are overwhelmingly grateful to you all.’
