Community development expert, Abdallah Abubakari has officially been inducted as the new Northern Regional Minister. He succeeded Alhaji Mohammed Muniru
Limuna who was moved to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture during a
cabinet ministerial reshuffle.
Abdallah Abubakari admitted the enormity
of the region’s socio-economic challenges and promised to accomplish
his predecessor’s unfinished agenda.
He pledged to curtail the mass exodus of the youth to the southern sector in search of none-existing jobs.
Abdallah Abubakari called for peaceful co-existence in the region which is inundated with several conflicts.
He called for concerted efforts to build the region’s transformational agenda.

He acknowledged the contribution of Non
Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to the region’s development and
promised to cement their relationship with the Regional Coordinating
Council.
Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna urged the Regional Minister to be tactful and neutral in executing his administrative powers.
He recalled some of the challenges he encountered then as a Regional Minister and encouraged his successor to be focused.
“Being a northern regional minister is
not an easy task and anybody who is able to manage the region
successfully can manage the whole country.”
