Social media blocked in Uganda on the day of presidential elections.

Social media has been blocked in Uganda on the day of presidential elections.President Yoweri Museveni said the move is to stop people "telling lies".

Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp and mobile money services have been blocked, but people have found a way around by using VPN, BBC has reported.
According to local media reports, #UgandaDecides is still trending on Twitter.
The head of Uganda's media regulator, Godfrey Mutabazi, has explained that the block was introduced after a request from the electoral commission.
MTN, which is Uganda's leading mobile operator has confirmed that it had received an order to shut down social media services.
Mr Museveni, 71, is hoping to extend his 30-year rule in the presidential race, despite opposition from some seven candidates.
His main challengers include Former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi, and former physician, Kizza Besigye.
BBC has reported that voting has been cancelled at one polling station in the capital Kampala following clashes with police.
