Tragedy: Heartbroken Wife Loses Baby After Tragic New Year’s Day Car Crash Killed Her Husband

Simon Lewis was driving his Daihatsu when it collided with an overtaking car .A woman whose husband died in a tragic New Year’s Day car crash has lost her unborn baby son.
Simon Lewis, his pregnant wife Amanda and their daughter Summer were involved in the collision on New Year’s Eve.
Mr Lewis died and following concern their unborn baby was in distress as a result of the collision, he was delivered by emergency Caesarean Section at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, on Sunday morning.
South Wales Police said he died in hospital later the same day, reports Wales Online.
“Amanda has requested that her family have privacy while they deal with this further devastating loss,” a spokesman said.

Mr Lewis was driving his Daihatsu Sirion when it collided with an overtaking car, a blue Peugeot 307, travelling in the opposite direction at 5.30pm on Thursday on Lamby Way.
Tributes were paid to Mr Lewis by his family on Friday , who called him a “wonderful father and husband”.
They said: “Simon was married to his wife Amanda of seven years and they had a daughter named Summer.
“He was a very popular man who lived for his family.”

“He was a wonderful father and husband who was looking forward to the birth of his son,” the family statement continued.
“He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and is someone who will never be replaced.”
The 29-year-old driver of the blue Peugeot was taken to hospital where he was treated for head injuries that are not life-threatening.
He continues to be treated in hospital.
Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses to come forward.
