Man ‘kidnapped and raped woman he planned to keep in bunker for years’.

A Swedish doctor is on trial charged with the kidnap and rape of a woman whom prosecutors say he planned to hold in a soundproof bunker for years.

Martin Peter Trenneborg, 38, admitted to kidnapping and holding a woman for six days at an isolated house in southern Sweden about 550km (340 miles) from her apartment, but denied the charge of rape.

Trenneborg was arrested when he went to the woman’s apartment to get things for her and found the locks changed.

He instructed the woman to go to the police, tell them that she was not missing, and get a new key for her apartment, but she promptly sought protection from the police, who detained her captor.
